Eh just throw away the box, put it in a case in your pants.

I already bought an iPad Pro there
Yeah I figure that'd work ,tho people may be reluctant to buy it from you when you want to sell it a few year from now

Good luck my dude ! I don't plan on traveling anywhere for now personally

That's what we get for listening to Americans, who are profiting immensely on this energy crisis, while we suffer greatly, while also being loyal allies, which now more feels like being vassal states. Things will only get bleaker, and just fyi the iphone 14 still comes with a lightning cable...

I'm an ex-German. I don't recall telling any of my old countrymen to shut down nuclear power plants, dismantle coal power before setting up a viable alternative. Yet that is exactly what they did, whilst relying almost exclusively on natural gas from an unstable regime. Especially laughable considering most of france's nuclear power plants are just over the border and upwind of Germany.

All that said... yes, Europe has been manipulated and used as a pawn in global politics.

Fun fact. France is buying electricity from Germany, because their nuclear power plants can’t operate due to the heat waves (less water in the rivers) and poor maintenance! Guess Germany made the right move in the end ;)

Yeah, was unpleasantly surprised too...
€ 1459,- for iPhone 14 Pro 256 GB (my favourite)....

I do I think I'll bite the bullet.
As things are going, it wouldn't suprise me that iPhone 15 will again be > 20% more expensive...

How did this topic become a discussion about energy crisis? USD has been extremely strong last 12 months, of course iPhone prices here in Europe will go up.

Anyway, most people buy their phone on a 24 month contract. So the increase won't be that noticeable for the large mass of people.

Hm then the prices should have been lower all this time when the euro was much stronger than the dollar.

Oh, there will be a big, big drop in the EU, I guarantee. People are getting sick and tired of these prices and are starting to feel used, even wealthy people or hardcore Apple fans, and when that happens, people stop being loyal and start getting angry and buy somewhere else.

This price increase will be very negative for Apple, mark my words.

I have upgraded every single year since 2007 and I am really thinking about whether or not to upgrade, it’s a hard habit to break after all these years 😂

Sigh. Now I'm torn. I REALLY need a better functioning battery and am a big camera user...my iPhone 12 Pro battery is already annoyingly at 83%, so not low enough for an AC+ replacement yet. It's killing me because I'm constantly traveling for work, and my phone is constantly dying. But this price increase is just a big middle finger to the EU market- I'm just not sure I can justify it. I've been an iphone user since the 3GS, but for the first time I'm really starting to consider leaving the brand.

I'm in the same boat. I think I'll take a stand this year, and start checking out some other product. Apple tax is fine, inflation is fine, but there comes a point where they're just straight out scamming their costumers.

This is how Apple operates in the EU.

Weak Euro -> price increase.
Strong Euro -> price stay the same.

The Euro is extremely weak right now but will probably bounce back soon. And mark my words, Apple won't lower prices when it happens.

And that's how Apple will fail and we will finally say bye-bye to mr Cook. Enough is enough, this just feels like exploitation. I'm outraged and will be switching to Android for the first time, so yeah...

I'm in Switzerland and "happy" with the deal I can make. Sure the prices are high, but I can trade in my current 12 Pro.

I will opt for the 512GB iPhone Pro which costs 1'539 CHF, but I will trade my iPhone 12 Pro for 305 CHF to get a final price of 1'234 CHF, which is less than the 1'249 CHF I pad for my 256GB 12 Pro.
You would get quite a bit more (maybe even double) if you sold it yourself (e.g. on anibis or ricardo)
