Hi, guys.
I have Apple Watch running the latest watchOS 4.3.2 and an iPhone 7 Plus on the latest beta (5th I guess) of iOS 12. I'm in Russia and I can't get a Pride Watch Face to my watch. I already changed the region to United States, my watch and phone are using English language, but the watch face still isn't available.
Is my country an issue? Or what am I doing wrong? If you know how to get it, would be happy to follow the instructions!

UK here; I’m finding the Pride watch face in the Watch app on the phone > Face Gallery (bottom menu strip) and its there in New in watchOS in the top row. Are you missing the Pride watch face there?

EDIT: Just noticed your on the iOS 12 beta. Anyone else verify the Pride face is availible on the iOS 12 betas?

Unfortunately I saw a number of reported incidents about this specifically with Russia and didn't see a solution for the frustrated users. Perhaps it's locked by the time zone you're using rather than traditional region/language. Sorry that's of no help as you obviously can't change your time zone

Hm. I guess, I can :)
Will let you know if disabling location and manual pick for time zone setting would help.

Do you think I should downgrade to 11.4.1?
By the way, seems like there’s nothing New for me in watchOS, he he

UPD: just changed "Set Automatically" setting to manual and picked LA, USA, reboot my iPhone and Apple Watch and the watch face still didn't appear.
Feels like I have to give up or move from here.

I’m on the latest iOS 12 beta and watchOS 5 beta and I’m in the UK. I’ve just had a look for you and I can’t see the pride watch face on mine.

I too wondered if it was down to Putin being a gimp and he had banned it but not so sure now. Hope that helps.

I’m pretty sure that Putin didn’t ban anything Pride related. Apple itself decided not to sell the Pride band in Russia. And it seems that they also do not allow to use this watch face here.
But thank you for your time. Appreciate it!

hard press on watch face to change face. scroll all the way to right, add new face. scroll down and you'll see the pride face available to be set. once set, you can change faces and pride will remain an option.

If it is not on the iPhone Watch app it can't port over to the Watch.

I bet it is a perceived personal safety issue that Apple isn't allowing it.

This was my first thought, I'm not sure, but I don't think the LGBTQ Community is actually all that "welcome" in Russia. Although I've never been there, it's just my perception.

Just to add it's NOT much of a watch face. The strings vibrate for about 1 second and then you are left with nice colors, NO Complications and just a small hours/minutes plus day in the top right.

Yea all reports and stories indicate that homophobia is pretty extreme and violence is tolerated in Russia.

Yup that what happens when you have a terrorist psychopath “running” the country
You know what? These kinds of limitations from Apple or some artists like Florence + The Machine, for example, make me a little bit sad. There are a lot of people who absolutely hate everything that is happening. Yeah, our government sucks and it seems like there's nothing we, the normal people, can do about it. But these products and concerts are not for the government, but for the people, the fans, if you like.

Government politics have nothing to do with normal people. I know a lot of them who are really supportive for LGBTQ community or even a part of it themselves. I don't know why Apple limits them to get such goodies as a watch band just like a government in here.

It has one complication at the bottom.

They never should have called it “Pride”. It should have been given a name that referenced the classic Apple six color logo. That would have been a less problematic answer; this way, backwards countries that are less open to gays would still get the watch face.

Why not e-mail Tim or someone at Apple PR for a statement as to why the Pride face doesn't show up for Russian users? You could also call Apple Support to ask about a workaround. You may not find out anything, but it's worth a shot.

You also could make a static knock-off of this watch face by using a properly-sized picture of it in the Photos face. One advantage of that approach is that you also get some complications.

I emailed him about this, but didn’t get any reply. Would you recommend to do it again?

Hm. That’s an idea. Do you know where to get this pic in a good quality?

I think that it’s ridiculous the watch face is baked into the OS anyway. It’s s political symbol - so why stop there? Where’s my Christianity watch face? Islamic Watch face? Black power watch face? When you start shoe horning politics into consumer products, you get situations such as this. In the case or Russia it was either disable the face or have the product completed banned from the Russian market. End of the day Apple answers to its shareholders.
The face should have been called Rainbow and left it at that, even being able to tweak the colours so that a user could recreate the gay flag if they so desired.

This is a bit silly. Apple can make available whatever watch faces it wants, including any of the above. In practice, its actual choices will reflect its own values. Inclusion and acceptance have always been core Apple values, so it makes sense that these are the values it chose to emphasize. If you disagree with these values, you have a choice to make: either don't install that watch face and don't worry about it, or buy another product from a manufacturer who shares your personal creed.

As a name choice, "Pride" makes more sense than "Rainbow," because the latter would dilute the message Apple wants to send. Being able to change the colors on this particular face would as well.

Yes so where is the inclusion and acceptance for people of colour? For people of particular religious persuasions?
This is Tim Cook using the company he is employed to helm to push a very personal agenda, and it insists on doing that then you get situations like this Russia one.
Apples values were never to promote gay rights, it is to think different.
The most ‘inclusive’ thing (that wouldn’t have resulted in a Russia banning, was to have a rainbow face that the user could confirm. As I said - make it the gay flag if you want

So in your ‘inclusivity’ you actually want to EXCLUDE?!
I’m not ‘homophobic’ but I have to tell it as it is, Gay activists are among the most selfish of activists.
If the Apple Watch is now some sort of political product then all bases should be covered.

Let’s return to it simply being a smart watch eh?

[doublepost=1535742254][/doublepost]I'm waiting for the Southern Pride watch face.

Apple shouldn't be sending any message...I want it deleted immediately..the gay pride community would have a fit and a lawsuit if they put a cross for an option.
--- Post Merged, 12 minutes ago --- Maybe just sell your damn products and keep out the political ********...

I’ve had my fair share of warnings around here but I think what you say, and didn’t say, has just a) broken around 35 forum rules and b) shown the reason why these watch faces, bands and whatnot should exist in the first place. If you do not like homosexuality, then don’t be gay, I guess. Let people live their lives.

Hey mods...
