This just reminds me of all the parents who complain and yell and scream about how evil video games are once their kid is in jail for getting in a fist-fight and hits someone with a lead pipe. "It's those devil-games! That..that GRAND THEFT AUTO RUINED MY SON!"

Sure, lady, and I'm sure you had a close, personal relationship with your son before he started getting into violence? People don't usually just "decide" to beat people with lead pipes due to something they saw in a video game. It is usually something brewing for a long time, you just didn't know about it.

And as for "My son refused to ride the bus,": What do you do when your young child arbitrarily refuses to obey your wishes with no good reason? Force him to. All children are scared of some things, but that's all it is--a childish fear. If you let your children control you by whatever it is they happen to feel at that second, you're not a parent, you're Richie Rich's butler.

I know they stopped showing the Speede Gonzalize (sp?) cartoons because they thaught it was offending to mexicans.

To be truthful, many of the "older" (from when I was a kid) cartoons were pretty culturally insensitive. Look at some of the older Disney movies and how they portray Asians or Native Americans.

So that's why I never see Road Runner cartoons anymore? They must have been edited down to nothing....

Pretty much, the Road Runner is pretty rare now. The other one who has almost entirely disappeared is Yosimete Sam. Unfortunately Bugs Bunny was my least favourite and he and sylvester seem to be the only ones that are appropriate these days :-(

Teletoon here is re-running a lot of the really old Loony tunes, and it's amazing watching what they actually did in those. There's one short I've seen a few times now that is actually a doctrine on how much better capitalism and a free market is than communism! (it's a mouse in the "old country" talking about his visit to America).

Can you imagine a cartoon like Peppy LePeu today? Peppy the skunk pretty much tried to rape that female cat. All the femenazis would go crazy over a cartoon like that today. The Road Runner cartoons were always my favorite when I was growing up. I guess even Road Runner is "too violent" for today's oversensitive wankers.

Remember the days when we had good wholesome cartoons on the TV. None of this new stuff with explosions everywhere.

The good ol' days where Bugs pulled Elmer Fudd through a knot hole in a fence and then beat him with a shovel. Yup, those where some good times.

Actually, I think Looney Toons set the record for "most explosions in a cartoon, ever". Are you sure we're talking about the same cartoons here?
