Symbols, Children, General Public Audiences...

Not that they ever asked us.. 🙄

Think of the children... I have children, and they are well adjusted young adults, making their way through this congested world, and doing a dern good job of it.
If you want to think of the children, that's fine - turn it OFF! Whatever "it" is.
By OFF, I don't mean the button on your remote!
Begin at the beginning of your childrens lives, to teach them right from wrong, to teach them that not everyone thinks alike, teach them morals and self respect...the list goes on.
As for this Prince Half-Time show - there was NOTHING wrong with the show, unless you are guilty of not covering all the bases in your own morals and actions in life. Like many have said here, you can find a phallic symbol/connotation in just about ANYTHING, IF you want to.
Heck - how long has the White House been there? The pillars, to some could mean phallic symbols. I sure have read where people call the Washington Monument a PHALLUS....

First off, welcome to the forums ozmasgirl!

There were never days (in America) that people weren't uptight.

EDIT: I guess you can exclude the 60s. But that was more drug related.....

Thanks for the welcome! I guess that in my circle(s), and all renditions thereof, were just laid back people. But I swear that each passing event, day, or period of time(phases), people overlook so many things in their worlds...

I just noticed that your join year says 2005. Either you really had nothing to say over the course of 2 years, or there is something wrong with the forum.

Anyways, I guess it does depends on how old you are. Among my circle of friends we're very liberal (All 22 or 23). My parents aren't that bad when it comes to things like this. I guess it depends on how you were raised.

Sad to say, I personally think that it all boils down to religion and politics. (I will not get into that dicussion b/c we are not in th political/social/religion forum 😀 )
