print dialog box has disappeared

I have an iMac 10.6.8 with a hp officejet pro L7590. The last 2 days when I try to print from Word or Excel the print dialog box doesn't appear. I can print from the pulldown menu, but that's all. Any ideas?

You're running Windows? What OS? And if you're on Windows, is it via Bootcamp or Parallels/VMWare?
