Is there a way to print from my iPod Touch? Also, when will some word processing tools come out for this device?

Thank you.

The only way you can print now is by emailing the document to yourself and then printing it from a computer.

I wish it could print to a networked printer with an IP address or something--that would be awesome.

I'm sure we will get some word processing programs for it by christmas, if not before then. However, its likely this type of program would take some work.

A friend of mine got all the documents he wanted to print in his iPod Touch. (Printscrrpit format)

He somehow connected his iPod with the wireless network (at school), using the terminal (he found a weakness in the network so he could print for free in macs and linux).

And then he printed....

If there is indeed a way to do this why don't you post the details instead of telling us that he "...somehow..." did it. You posting was as informative as if you had said, "Glibble frab, mej itns twaddle frop."

im very surprised that apple hasn't put out some kind of prnting option, its obviously not hard if this guys friend can do it. and there is no mention of it in the 2.0 roadmap, kinda dissapointing. we are getting a bunch of other stuff though :)

It's not always ideal, but I read a way to do it here.

1. Create an AppleScript on your home computer which prints the attachment from any email which has 'PrintLW640' (or whatever you like) in its subject.
2. Open Mail on your iPhone/touch, add 'PrintLW640' (or whatever name you want to give it) to the subject (like 'NewProspects PrintLW640'. Send the e-mail to your home email address. The attachment will automagically be printed...
3. More than one printer? Add multiple scripts with different printernames (like my PrintLBP5000 for color prints).

(AppleScript tip)

I'm sure there will be office tools in the App store, and maybe some sort of printing application. Not sure of the printing one though.

I'm no expert in coding hell I dont even class myself a noob beginner with code as I've never touched the stuff but surely it must be possible somehow? essecially with the SDK out someone must be able to figure somethin out.

No you can only edit.. Documents....

On the IPad and iPhone you can print using AirPrint...
