My print plugin I created in Yosemite no longer works after loading El Capitan.

I created the plugin using Automator. My objective is to place a date before the file name of web receipts and then save these web receipts as a PDF to the Web Receipts folder.

I ran Automator and select "Print Plugin". I add "Rename Finder Items" to the automation. I select to add the date before the file name. Next, I add "Move Finder Items" to the workflow. I choose to move the file to the Web Receipts file.

That is all there is to my Print Plugin. It worked while using Yosemite. What happens now is nothing. No PDF is stored in the Web Receipts folder or anywhere else.

I talked with Apple Care for over an hour. Their final advice was to reload the operating system. This did not work.

This plugin works if run within Automator. You have to add "Get Specified Finder Items" at the beginning of the work flow and enter a file. A PDF is not created, but the file is saved as is.

I have created a new print plugin after loading El Capitan and it also does not work.

Does anyone have a better idea or can duplicate the problem?

Solution to my problem is to insert a Quartz Filter as the first action in my Automator Workflow.

Thanks for this. It worked for me as well. I found that if I added the Quartz filter in Automator, I didn't even have to choose a specific filter. Just adding that step was enough. Very weird bug.
