I want to share a printer between a couple of PCs (Windows XP, 1 Pro and 1 Home) and a new Macbook. The printer is an HP 1018, which does not have Mac drivers available. I'm thinking of getting a little appliance-type device (D-Link, etc). Two questions:
- hardware recommendation?
- will I be able to print from a Mac to a printer that doesn't have Mac drivers?
Thanks and happy holidays.

i think u need driver even if the printer does not connect to mac directly.

You'd need drivers, but... there's a decent chance the Mac will work with it without installing specific drivers (i.e., the built-in ones likely will work).

I have no good recommendations, as I use an AirPort Express as a print server, but I'd guess almost anything would work fine, as it's fairly simple stuff.
