I've successfully installed my old Epson photo stylus RX620 printer on my new MacBook Pro running Mavericks.

The only problem is that I can only print using the most basic print options. Unlike when my printer was connected to my old Windows XP machine, I can no longer select different paper types, print quality (draft, normal, photo and best photo), print speed, black printing only etc etc.

Do I take it that the apple software for my printer doesn't offer these options?

Have you run Software Update to get latest drivers?

When printing, did you click on the "Show Details" button?

According to Epson, it's supported in Mavericks:

Hello NoBoMac and thanks. Clicking on the "Show Details" button has solved it. Phew! Funny how silly things can stump yer!

Perhaps it's worth mentioning to newbie Mac users, who have just crossed over from Windows, to expect the interface for the same printer in OSX to look and work quite differently from Windows - as this webpage clearly illustrates.

The FAQ link on that Epson page gives access to lots of info too.

Thanks again.
