Any experience with the HP M252dw printer?
Is the OS X support up to scratch?
Does it play nice with El Cap?
Anybody know if it uses a Postscript driver (more likely to still work in OS X 10.14! - been burnt by an older HP when they dropped the proprietary driver and the generic CUPS one was pants)?

My cheap'n'cheerful Samsung CPP315, is starting to print streaks and in our wonderful throwaway society that means its worth at least reviewing the idea of replacing it rather than spending £50-£100 on a new set of cartridges (which might not even be the problem- I might have knackered the imaging unit printing on too-heavy paper).

    Ideally, I'd like:
    Colour Laser (or LED)
    Reasonably compact
Ethernet (WiFi and AirPrint good to have but not essential)
    Duplex (I like Duplex)
Don't want a multi-function device (there's a decent scanner in my cupboard when I need it).

Print cost is really not an issue: my print volume is tiny and even the starter cartridges are likely to last me several years... I've found that inkjets are a pain with irregular use. Main use - documents with colour graphics. Photos should be 'OK by laser standards' but not expecting inkjet quality.

The two box-tickers seem to be the HP M252dw and the Brother HL-3150CDW, but the HP looks like it has better reviews.

    (Central) NY State of mind
I bought one of these to replace an aging Brother 4040cn (non-duplex, wired-network) color laser printer. I've only had it a couple months, but the price was ridiculously cheap for a color wireless, duplex laser. I'll try to answer as many questions as I can.

My experience so far is great, joined my wireless network easily using WPS with my Airport Extreme (latest ac model). I use a Mac and my wife a PC - wireless setup was harder on the PC (Windows 10) than my 2012 Mac Mini.

Still on Yosemite, so can't say anything about El Cap support.

Not sure what driver it's using, but I have it connecting via Bonjour to my Mac.

Very compact - especially compared to my old Brother

Ethernet - I've only tried wireless so far

Duplex works like a wife uses Hallmark Card Studio all the time and it spits double-sided card stock out like much easier than the old Brother where you had to grab the printout, flip it over, and stick it back through the machine.

So far I have no qualms recommending it.
