I run a mbp 2.5 penryn with OS X 10.5.5. I use several printers (several HP Laserjet 1020, HP Deskjet 1180C). Very often, I get a stuck printing process. I print from several sources (pdf files in preview, mail.app, pages.app,...). The printing is interrupted, with the print dialog is fixed at "printing processing". I can leave the computer for days like this - the print will not be executed. This procedure will resolve the issue: -unplug the USB cable from the printer -put the mbp into sleep mode (or shutdown) -waking the mbp up -plug in the printer Immediately the printer starts, to print after connecting the USB cable. What is wrong here? Can anybody help, to find the cause - this is not only annoying, but takes a lot of time, since it happens very often. I understand Apples attitude towards advertising an environmental friendly corporate image, but forcing me, to think twice before printing goes in my way, cost me time and works gets not done.
