So I was thinking... if I can sync my keychains between computers/devices, and if all of my devices can decrypt my iMessages... does that mean my private key(s) are stored in iCloud? If so, then that means that Apple has access to all of my data, unencrypted, and that data could potentially be subpoenaed... right?

Great question. I wish somebody had answered it. I myself am somewhat worried about exactly how to use the cloud, what to put in it, what not to put in it, and whether i should just stop using it. My phone and computer are unable to verify each other's devices, so I've gotten daily error messages for months. I'm afraid to just cancel the cloud for fear of losing something.
