It is still five posts. If you just hit five and can't PM yet, give it a day for the servers to catch up with your post count.

Feature idea: splash screen on successful registration -- informing user what they CAN do (reply to threads, start new ones), and CAN'T do yet (message someone)?

Been running around in circles, until I found this thread.

Good chance the "5 posts minimum" policy is prominently visible in the sign-up flow, and I simply missed it!
