I just got my Apple Pro Display and I connected it to my also new MBP 16-in (maxed out with 64GB ram and 8GB ATI Radeon Pro 5500M graphics card). To test it out, I tried all sorts of software, Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, but also I played a movie from TV+ and I was surprised it has drop frames. In fact it plays like 12fps instead 24fps. I tried several movies and it's always the same. It plays smoothly on my laptop. So, I'm curious what this could cause and how can I fix it? Is it possible that this monitor consumes most of the memory?

Before I bought it, I asked the guy in the Apple Store specifically about this potential issue, and he said with this MBP configuration I should be totally safe.

This is crazy. I wonder if Apple should make any software or firmware updates any time soon.

This definitely does not happen with my fully spec'd out 16". Watching a 30GB 4K HDR movie right now in VLC - everything is smooth and flawless full screen on the XDR.

I even have Photoshop & Lightroom running and it's working well....
