Hey folks,
I am in the (generally) very lucky position now to own a Pro Display XDR, and it works on my M1 Mac and Windows PC in full resolution - I just have to plug around a bunch.
I tried several KVMs, and had no luck with the following:
Sabrent TB4 KVM, did work on the Mac but the PC doesn't have thunderbolt, and it doesn't just switch to DisplayPort, it just doesn't work then.
Ugreen DisplayPort Switch 2 in, 1 out - Switching to the Windows PC always worked, switching to the Mac never - I had to power off and on the Display to get a signal again from the Pro Display XDR
TESmart DKS202-M24 - works relatively reliably on the windows side, although it was stuck once at 2560x1440 - non HiDPI.
Got it to work very few times under the Mac, can't really reproduce the steps as it was very rare.
I read a couple posts here were people were successful with random switches from 30€ to 150€, which sounds too good to be true to me - on my switches so far, the display has been completely lost when switching and did not show up anymore after, even after manually trying to rediscover them. I was thinking about EDID Emulators, but your posts keep me hopeful - anybody got it working with either a Studio Display or XDR and an M-Chip Mac? Since macOS Ventura, the rules about connecting displays seem to have changed, so I want to know before I buy switch number 4 & 5...
Would be very grateful for the switch plus cable I need to buy on Amazon to be in computing heaven,
Cheers!
