Pro-ish camera for ~700

I'm looking for a decent video camera. I don't want a hand-held type camera. I was thinking about the GL2 but that is slightly out of my price range. I wouldn't be buying it until mid-summer. Any recommendations?

Did you mean $700.00? You won't find anything close to that resembling a pro-level camera.

But if you tell us what specific features you're looking for, someone may have suggestions.

You MIGHT be able to find a used GL1 or something. But $1500 is probably the minimum you'll have to spend on a "prosumer" 3CCD SD camera.

yeah I've heard about the used GL1. That looks like my best route. Any tips on places to locate them? I'd prefer not to use Ebay if at all possible. I don't drive yet so Craig's List isnt that feasible.

I bought a Panasonic AG-DVC30 a while back for only about 1570 (including shipping). Pretty good bang for your buck. I'm sure the price has dropped now.
