Nice shot!
I have a Sony DSC-P72, I bought it a few years ago, can't remember how much. But I really don't like it at all.

I'm not so happy with my Canon too, but it's about 3 years old, so maybe it's time for an upgrade.

That's a great photo. I always find the outdoors beautiful, especially after a fresh coat of snow.

Here's a snowy photo I took with my camera.

Great photo! Lovely dog. :)

Here's some more to keep this thread going. ;) Taken using an Ixus 40. Not $200 when I bought it, but definitely worth $200 now!

As with photography, it is all very subjective. What one enjoys looking at is not always what a professional would say is good. Hence the mention that someone could take better pictures with a pinhole camera that cost $2. However, I am not a pro, and therefore I can only base what I like on what I see. I have seen some awesome pictures in this thread.

I have a Kodax CX4300 ($250 camera with 3.2Megapixels), and here are a few of my pictures from that camera that I like.

My next digital camera, I hope to be a Canon DSLR. I have learned how to use an SLR camera, and I hope to take the knowledge that I know to improve, not as a professional by any means, but certainly would like to have some nice amateur pics. If I could sell pictures, technically that would give me the title of a "profession" by definition, however, that doesn't mean my pictures were really that good. Again it is all based on what people think.

These are some great pictures, but I must say, my $150 Cannon AE-1 shoots beautiful pictures, as does my $20 medium format Holga, and I can do all my photoshopping in the darkroom. I guess it defeats the purpose of the ease of digital, but still, I love film.

I've found that photography has little to do with the equipment and everything to do with the person using the equipment. A good photographer will make beautiful art regardless of what he is using.

I am like you like my pictures, the road was just dusty. That was someplace in Arizona, we stopped to walk around a bit and I snapped the photo. As for playing with your dads 35mm SLR, that is really awesome. I learned what little I know about using an SLR from a Canon TX (of course that was before fully automatic cameras).

Have fun, and I am looking forward to seeing your work with that camera. Some awesome shots in this thread. If I got out more I would certainly have a lot better ones. I can't wait until I get a Canon DSLR, and then I will have a reason to go out and just snap random shots.
