I just finished transferring my 13 PM to my 14 PM.
In my Apple ID screen and on the Bluetooth connection screen, my iPhone 14 pro max shows up as iPhone 13 Pro max(2).
Is it because I haven’t deleted my iPhone 13 from my account?

I did rename it and that solved the Bluetooth showing as the wrong phone.
But it didn’t change the name of the phone under Apple ID screen in settings.
It does say this iPhone 14 pro max in small text under the iPhone 13 Pro Max (2).
I update phones every year and I’ve never had this happen.

I’m gonna play dumb here for a minute, but how do you change the name? I’m having the same issue.

Provided the updated name shows up correctly at iCloud.com/settings, your phone will refresh its data from iCloud the next time you reboot it. In years past you may have erased your old iPhone before the new one finished setting up, hence no naming conflict.

Settings → General → About → Name.

Did this, reboot it but it shows no change, except in general >about > name. Well try again thank you.

keep showing this below instead of just iPad..

Just an update. After making the change in the name, it took a short time before it actually showed up so now it’s fine again.

I'm having this same issue. I've set my phone up twice: once using Quick Start and the other restoring from a backup using my iMac. In both cases, Settings -> General -> About, iCloud/settings, and Find My show the right device name but applications that pull the name are getting "iPhone". For example, Home Assistant, My Chart, Synology Photos all show my device name as "iPhone" instead of what's listed in Settings -> General -> About, iCloud/settings, and Find My.

I threw together a little XCode sample showing the wrong device information being retrieved. The first image shows my device name. The second screenshot shows a Swift app getting "iPhone" when executing UIDevice.current.name.

I can confirm that this is an issue with iOS 16. Here's the same sample app running on my wife's Xr running 15.6.1 and it gets the correct device name through code.
