Any chance for to create a high dpi + high refresh rate monitor priced below the current XDR's range instead of simply refreshing it as the next iteration with the new tech inside ?
Same here, I'm still using a Acer Predator X34 from a thousand years ago lol... Been waiting on a new Cinema Display for my home office setup and keeping my Acer for gaming lolI'm desperate for an Apple-made successor to the Thunderbolt display. I'd settle for just a standalone iMac display. But ideally, I'd love to see one with ProMotion and a 1080p camera. Available in either 24in or 30in. Priced at $999 and $1299 respectively.
Same thinness as the iMac. Same sound.
There are rumors, but nothing solid yet.
The LG monitors are scarce right now...and frankly, I think they're ugly.
I know it's a great display, and I'd love to get one.If you can afford an XDR, you will not be disappointed. I just bought a second one to go with a 14" MBP. They are amazing screens. I use them for software development and with 8-10 hours a day working it is more than worth it.
Do you get the nano texture? If you can afford an XDR, you will not be disappointed. I just bought a second one to go with a 14" MBP. They are amazing screens. I use them for software development and with 8-10 hours a day working it is more than worth it.

For me the only good options in the market right now are LG Ultrafine 5K or Huawei Mateview with 4.2k at 3:2 aspect ratio.I'm also wondering if Apple is going to release a more affordable or updated display any time soon. While I can afford a Pro Display XDR, I've read about too many nagging issues, however minor, that would annoy me given the price.
Leaning towards an LG UltraFine 5K which also has many positive reviews, but of course not perfect either. But at one fifth the price, it'll be a much easier pill to swallow if something more desirable comes out in the next 12-18 months.
Still thinking...
