Pro tools, XLR mic and the Macpro Nightmare. Need Advice!

I was a bit foolish. I jumped the gun and bought the mbox2 and a xlr mic to find out it is not supported with the macbook pro.

Any recomendations for pre-amps or the like for an xlr condensor mic used for voice work that wont break the bank.

so what's the plan? return the mbox and buy some DAW software? use GB until digi releases a UB PTLE?

oh yeah -- the mbox can be used by other software, so you don't necessarily have to dish out money for another interface.
