Okay I'm going to get in on Saturday, now I need help with which version of Office to get! I have Office 2008 on my Mac right now and would like to know if it's worth the money to upgrade to 2016? Then there is the matter of Office 365 personal or Microsoft Office for Mac which have all of the same applications am I right? They just have a huge price difference.

Edit: Will it be easy to put onto a USB so I can install on the new machine?

I am still running Office 2008, works fine and does all I need. The Migration Asst had no problem moving it along with all my other stuff from a 2008 MBP to a 2011 MBA and finally to my 2013 MBA.

I setup a MBA for a family member last winter and she was still using AppleWorks, which of course stopped working in Lion when Apple dropped Rosetta support. I installed LibreOffice on that machine, and AFAIK it is the only software that directly opens AppleWorks/ClarisWorks files now. Anyway, I was pretty impressed with LibreOffice in general, maybe it would be a viable alternative for you?

Hey Katie. Might I suggest Office 365 Student for you? This includes the full, installed Office experience on up to 2 PCs, Macs, or tablets (including iPad® and Android™ tablet) and 2 phones. It also includes 1TB of OneDrive storage. The cost is 79.99 but it's good for 4 years.

This would allow you to install Office for Mac 2016 applications, or if you ever decide to join the dark side(Windows), you can install the PC apps.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

Thanks, a friend of mine is giving me a copy of his 2013 Office :D

The rMBP is a more powerful machine then what I need. All I'm going to be doing is school work, surfing the web, & netflix :) So I'll save myself some money and go ahead and get an Air, plus it'll be more portable. thanks everyone for your options.

You made the right choice! The Air is awesome.
