If anyone is on the fence between the two sizes I would say get the pro max and see what you think. It really isn’t as big as the pages and pages and pages of discussions would make it out to be. I went from X to 14PM and it really doesn’t feel huge. If anything the X now looks and feels small.

I had the 13 pro max and max models before it, i went with the 14 pro this time around. Its definitely smaller but I think I prefer it. time will tell but apple doesnt really make good use of the extra space with their UI so I dont feel like I am missing anything and its way lighter/more portable

I went with the pro max again this year. I still think Apple should make another model in-between the two. A 6.4 inch screen would be perfect IMO. There are times when the max seems a tad too big, but the pro just seems too small all the time for me, especially when using GPS. I think the extra screen real estate is worth the trade-offs on the pro max.

I’ve had every plus/max sized phone available before. Today I switched from a 13 PM to a 14 Pro. It’s definitely a huge difference. I’ve only had the 14 set up for a few minutes and the smaller size has been quite enjoyable I got tired of carrying around the large phone in my pocket and decided I can at least try out the smaller pro size. Ultimately if I want to go back I can just return the phone and get a 14 PM. But so far so good!

I feel like I swap models and colors every few years, by the time the new phone comes out - I am tired of the form factor.

This year trying the Pro Max out as my battery life has been horrible with the 13 Pro and after adding a magsafe battery / battery case - its as heavy and bulky than the max.

I had one max size phone, but my hands are just too small for them and it was very uncomfortable to use, so I have stuck with the regular size pro since.

I don't think I'm upgrading this year, but if I were to, I'd get the Pro. I've used the biggest iPhone available whenever I purchased, but now I just want a small phone. I find myself not using my phone for media anymore but as an actual phone these days. I'd trade in the 13 Pro Max for a 13 Mini in a second if it had ProMotion.

After using a Samsung Galaxy Note20 5G for the past two years I have grown accustom to the 6.7 size phones. I had an iPhone XR before that and love that size. To me it was a nice medium between small and large sizes.

I ultimately decided to ordered the 14 Pro - Space Black since I wanted a slightly smaller phone this time around.

Same with the iPad mini :) , theres a reason Apple doesnt put pro motion in smaller products - I think a lot of people would buy them versus the higher priced bigger products

Get the phone that's the size you like. No offense, people who prefer small phones.

One is a phablet and one is a phone.

Two very obvious reasons favoring the iPhone 14 Pro Max are screen display size and battery. Having been a Blackberry user early in my life. I am more naturally accustomed to using both hands when using a smartphone. I strongly suspect that along with the iPhone 14 Plus variant that we will split-screen multi-tasking. The larger display allows more immersive video content enjoyment and gaming for some. The additional battery life is extremely important on long trips away from an outlet. Pocketability is no issue. Anyone worried about AOD power consumption should simply flip the device over or put it in a pocket or purse or backpack. Just some initial thoughts having had my iPhone 14 Pro Max 512GB in Space Black since 10am CST this morning.

I completely agree. Apple should adapt the operating system for the larger screen even if it was just the Home Screen. It’s almost comical how much space there is between the icons. iOSMax anyone? 😂

Such a relief getting away from the Pro Max, too heavy and wholly unsuitable for one handed use. The 14 Pro feels great in the hand and doesn't weigh my pockets down!

This is the reason I started the thread. Experiences such as yours were making me worry about getting the larger phone. I haven’t got particularly large hands either and with a silicone case on the 14PM I find one handed use possible especially with the swipe keyboard.

I agree it’s not as easy as a smaller phone but it’s not awful either.
