So i accidentally dropped my iPhone in a glass of water. However everything was fine and it works pretty much perfectly apart from one issue...

My battery now lasts only 8 hours? Even if I'm not using it. Over night it will drain from 80% to 15%. Like something is causing its drainage even with screen off. Also if i turn my phone off, it will immediately turn back on?! I letter ally have no idea what could be causing this.

Any ideas? or any apps that could monitor such activity?

Someone told me it may be short circuiting somewhere? I can't see any of the water indicator paper on the bottom but looks white in the headphone jack

the problem is you dropped it in water  which is very unlucky :(

I take it the phone as dried out totally? Personally I would take it to the Genius bar and see what they say. You never know, you might get lucky and replace it or repair it. worst they can say is no...

It's most definitely a short circuit causing a power drain. Where? Who knows. There's at least thousands of connections that could be bridged as a result of water getting in there. There could even be multiple short circuits going on. At least of them might be with the sleep/power switch or something along that path, seeing as the screen turns right back on when you lock your phone.

I would stop using it and let it it sit for at least another day or so. Let it dry out further, and see if maybe that helps. If not, your phone might be toast.

Wouldn't hurt to try the seal-it-in-a-bag-of-dry-rice trick for an overnight.

Waht do you mean you "have no idea what could be causing this"?

You dropped it in a glass of water!

I dropped my phone and the screen shattered to bits.

Now I can't hardly see when someone txts me... it's really hard to read.

I have no clue what's going on!!

Toilet meet iphone 4s

I dropped my phone in the toilet today. I grabbed it, dried it off, and immediately put it in a bag full of rice. Before I did this however the screen went blank. I don't know how to make sure it is turned off. I took out the Sim card and all before putting it in the rice bag. I tried to turn it off 5 hours later and the screen flashed and I could see I have a new message then went blank again. What do I do???

If when you tried to turn it off, 5 hours alter, you saw the scrren flash with a message that you had a message, your phone was without a doubt not turned off. It does not sound good. Wait a few days and see.

At one point the phone started ringing as someone was calling me. I did not touch the phone and left it in the rice bag. Is this a good or bad sign?

I accidentally left my phone in a 20 story building that was to be demolished. After the demo I miraculously found my phone, although is it's in 1,232 pieces. Strange thing is it still sends texts like a dream. It won't make outgoing calls and I am really struggling to figure out why. Do you think this is a warranty issue? Something a full restore will cure? I have been up sleepless for a week pondering this problem.
