Hi everyone !

First, sorry for my english, i'm french canadian.

Got my 6 plus since end november. Alaways in a black Apple silicone case.

Yesterday i remove it from is case to clean it and notice something at the back of the iPhone. See the picture.

Do you think Apple will replace it ? I book an appointment for tomorrow to Genius Bar.

Thanks!!

Not sure if Apple will replace it or not. Sometimes it all depends on the store. I have to agree though that it looks like discoloration from the case or possible that it is dirt that got between the case and phone. Does not matter what case you use, be it from Apple or anywhere else. It can still happen. Wish I could have posted better news.

If the discoloration was caused by the silicon case, Apple should replace the phone. Return the silicon case & replace it with the Apple leather case when you get to the store. Hopefully, all goes well!

I think you defintley have a case here, as it was an Apple case that has caused the discolouration. I hope it goes in your favour.

Coming from Apple Store.

Don't want to change the iPhone. Genius Bar said it's normal use, it can be dust or sand between the phone and the case.

How it can be normal use after 4 months and the phone always in a case (Apple case...)

I would document the whole issue with more details and better quality photos, and then send it to websites like MacRumors. They may be interested in reporting the experience as news.

It looks like dust or something else got in between and scuffed up the aluminum back. Quite common unfortunately, but normal wear and tear.

Like everyone else stated, it seems that dust got into the case. There was an issue with the Apple bumpers causing scratches on the iPhone 4/4s, and the same logic applies here. All you can do now is either get a new cases, or continue using your existing case and clean it every month.

Sorry to hear it did not go in your favour. I have had cases on all my iPhones. Some are better than others, but eventually dirt will get into them. That is why I take my phone out every once in a while and clean them all up.

Soft cases will all this dirt/grit to get between the device and case and abraid the device surface. Gummy silicone cases are bad at holding this debris. Very good choice to remove you phine one a week or so and clean. Any case can do this to a point so it is always a good idea to remove and clean on occasion.
