Hi everyone,
I bought an external monitor brand LG model 22MN430H of 22" for my macbook pro early 2011 i5 13".
I also bought the thunderbolt 1 mini display adapter with three outputs (vga, hdmi and dvi), and bought a vga cable.
When connecting the monitor to the macbook it detects it but the monitor does not get a signal, I tried both vga cable and hdmi cable and it did not work.
I have another notebook (dell inspiron) that I connected directly by hdmi and the monitor worked.
I don't think the built-in video of the macbook is bad since it's the first time I've used the port.
The operating system I use is El Capitan and I tried all the available resolution sets.
I reset SMC and Pram/Nvram with no solution.

Does anyone know how to fix this problem please?
Thank you very much.

I’d strongly suspect the adapter. I’d try a different adapter (MiniDisplayPort to HDMI - I’d stay away from the analog VGA connection).

But try to disable mirroring first - there’s an option on the Arrangement tab (see the second picture attached to your post) in the display preferences that needs to be unchecked.
