Problem browsing directory with lot of files

Hello

I have a directory with 25.000 jpeg files.

If I open the folder with finder it loads it forever....I choose to display them as file list not thumbs. I had no problem to view that huge file list from win7 for example. What might be wrong ? How can I work with directories that have a lot of files?
