Problem copying to external drive

I am backing up since yesterday. Last night it says copying 7.243 items to external drive - not moved since. Says it will take 2 days ?? Is this possible. It says 7.243 items since yesterday

Thank you. The external drive is 2 terrabits - it is a Portable SSD T7 Shield 2TB

formated using which file system: exFAT, APFS, NTFS? What kind of data are you copying?

Yes it's not moving at all nothing copying
