I recall being able to import a Photoshop file with layers into FCP (Studio 3) and when I double-clicked on it it the project bin, it would load up in the active FCP timeline as a series of video tracks, one for each layer.
Now, when I do the same thing, the file opens up in a new tab on the timeline instead.
I can work with it, but I don't know how to place it back into the main sequence timeline.
Has this feature changed since FCP Studio 2?
I can't seem to find any options for import that applies to this.
I may be confused with another software, but I recall being able to make layered Photoshop files open as a series of video tracks in the main timeline when I was using FCP Studio 2.
Am I doing anything wrong or am I mistaken about how layered files are handled in FCP?

If the PSD is already in your timeline, double click it to edit. As you mentioned it opens in a separate tab, do your motion editing, then click back to the main sequence and the changes should have been applied.
