Problem Installing Sims 3 Generations on Macintosh HD

The installer and everything pops up fine, but when it comes to selecting where to install the program, it tells me the Sims 3 base game must also be installed in Macintosh HD. Sims 3 IS installed there.. and I've seen it! Any reason this might be happening and a way to fix it up?
