Hi,

I am trying to do a clean install of Snow Leopard and having a lot of headaches. I have two SL DVDs, the one that came with my mid 2010 macmini (which is 10.6.3) and another copy that I purchased to install in my other macs (which is 10.6). Here are my problems:

1) In my mid 2010 macmini, I can only boot from the DVD that came with the computer. I cannot boot from the retail DVD, even though they are both SL. The only difference is that the retail version is a slightly older version, but the same OS.

2) The reason I want to boot and install the retail version is because I already installed the included one and it is not behaving very well. For instance the graphics seem a little slow and I am having problems to log in another mac's screen sharing.

Any help getting the retail version to boot?

Thanks!!!

Why not install that which came with your Mac, and then use Software Update to bring it up to date? Your retail version will be older than the last update anyway.

The RETAIL version does not have the drivers the specially build grey RESTORE version has, thus only the RESTORE version will work.

And yes to the update, and if that still doesn't work properly with your graphics, then it is time to contact Apple, if you have a warranty or Apple Care.
