Whenever I log out of hotmail on my mac, I get to a window which says:

"Signing out
You're signing out of the following sites:

X Hotmail

If we can sign you out of a site, X appears next to its name. If we cannot sign you out of a site, appears next to its name.

If we couldn't sign you out of a site, click Try Again to try signing out again.

When you're done, click Done."

Trying again does nothing, what should I do?

On a side note, is a GMail account a POP or an IMAP account, (and what do these acronyms mean?)

Same thing happens to me with the hotmail account that I still have active. I just close the browser window.

A quick and easy explanation of POP and IMAP are located at www.imap.org

Does the same to me too sometimes. I've never been able to log back in without re-entering my password though, so I wouldn't worry about it. If you're paranoid (like me :) ) delete cookies after you've signed out. Or use HTTPMail and access Hotmail through Mail.app
