I'm having trouble playing audio on my brand-new 2011 iMac (27inch, i5, 8GB RAM).
In iTunes and on Youtube (that's all I've tried so far), it randomly stops playing the sound (it's almost as if it was buffering, which can't be the case), even if the video in Youtube still plays just fine.

Does anybody else have this problem, or any ideas how to resolve this?

thanks!

[update: permission repair fixed it, of course...]

Audio Stutter

I am having the same problem with my 2008 iMac. It started about a month ago and I still haven't found a way to fix it. All audio stutters. Videos play fine but the audio stutters (doesn't matter what the source is) and itunes stutters. It's a 3.06 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo iMac with 4 GB of RAM. The problem appeared to start with the update to 10.6.7; but I have recently updated to Lion (OSX 10.7) and the problem persists. If anyone out there has a suggestion I'd love to hear it. It's made my iMac almost unusable for what I do.
