Hi,

I just got a 15" MBP and I am having issues obtaining a DHCP lease via the ethernet. The eithernet shows green status in the configuration utility and the link lights are all on. However when I try to get a lease from DHCP server is always goes back to default.

It works fine if I go wireless through the same router(Buffalo Airlink). There is a Netgear switch between my router and the MBP. All my other PCs work fine through this switch. Anyone have any ideas?

TIA

- Daniel

After further testing. The problem only occurs when I connect my MBP go my Linksys 5 port gigabit switch. If I connect it directly to the router it works fine.

Does anyone know why only my MBP does not work with my switch? What switch are you guys using with your MBP. I need it to connect it to my NAS.

thanks.

sounds like its not picking it up because the switch is just being stupid.
have you tried using a static IP? i would suggest that, unless you absolutely need to have a dynamic one.
