Hi,

I have had my iPhone for a few days and I have tried registering with TheCloud from a variety of hotspots in Edinburgh. My iPhone finds 'Wifi Zone -TheCloud' and, when I open Safari, I am redirected to the O2 / TheCloud registration page. However, when I type in my mobile number and hit the 'Go' button, the form submission seems to hang indefinitely. The form is being sent to a server called 'sar.mycloud.net', but the blue progress bar in the Safari URL display only barely appears.

Has anybody else seen this happen or worked out a way to fix it? I have phoned O2 support and they suggested resetting my iPhone and then connecting. I have tried that twice whilst I have been near a hotspot, but it has not worked. The second time I phoned O2 support, the representative claimed to have 'reset my signal' despite the fact that I phoned from a work number that does not send any caller ID - which does not inspire much confidence.

Any ideas?

Cheers,
David

Hi David! That's very curious. My WIFI works fine here in Edinburgh on The Cloud. You could try specifically in All Bar One on George Street. I was in there on Wednesday night and WIFI (The Cloud) worked perfectly. I was prompted for my cell number (type the full number without spaces, including the leading 0) and it just worked. Was showing a mate how to view YouTube on it, loved it!

If that doesn't work, try a full power off and restart - hold the top button down for about 15 second, until the "Do you want to power off" message has gone. Release and you get the Apple logo as OS X restarts. This fixed some crashing/hanging issues with my wifes iPhone.

I wandered down to Waverley Station and managed to complete the registration there. Hopefully I should be able to connect to other hotspots now (although it may just be that all the hotspots south of Princes Street are rubbish!).

Cheers for the suggestion ...
