iPod touch Problem starting ipod

Hi... i have jailbroken my ipod several times only this time... when i powered it off when it started up it came up with

If you want to make modifications to files

/sbin/fsck -fy
/sbin/ mount -uw /

If you wish to boot the system:
exit

:/ root(hash)

it will not start up in recovery mode again... if anybody knows what to do and advice would be much appreciated... thanks

I would want to say to try to boot it up in DFU mode ... but I Don't know if it would work.
