problem starting up G4

this is what i get when i attempt to start up my G4. it was working fine last night, but now this. is anyone familiar with this?

sorry for the poor quality image. taken from my iphone3G. the question mark on the disk was flashing.

any help is appreciated.

think it means that it can't find a startup volume. Start up from a boot CD and open disk utility to find out what is going on with your HDD
