Problem starting up mac.

My mac was running fine, but yesterday all of my applications crashed and my mac froze, so i restarted it and now it takes forever to start up my mac, it stays on the white loading screen for 10-15 minutes and my applications now sometimes randomly crash.

Can anyone help me!?

I don't know what the problem could be, but have you used Disk Utility to look if you system hard drive is okay? Maybe it could be failing.

Or a Permission Verification and Repair can help.

You can do this all with Disk Utility in Applications >> Utilities, or if you restart and boot from the Mac OS install DVD you can choose Disk Utility from the Menu.
