I've used all iphone models since 3GS.

I always used the same process to update the phone

1) Download full FW version for my device
2) Backup phone
3) start itunes
4) connect phone
5) shift restore
6) select ipsw file and restore

I've had so much trouble this past week with 9.0.2

First i tried my 6+ i kept getting 4005 error

after spending hours and hours on my main desktop (windows7) trying i gave up and tried updating on my macbook which is on osX 10.7.5. Yes its old

However, the macbook worked! no more 4005 and it restored my 6+ to 9.0.2

I then picked up a 6S for my wife.

i tried on my w7 desktop and same issue. 4005 error

then i tried on my macbook. but this time i get to nearly the end of the restore and get error(1)

I research error1 and all the info i found here on the forums led me to believe this is a hardware issue.

I even called apple and they agreed that the phone must be exchanged. :(

made another reservation at apple store and picked up another 6s

came home and tried again on my macbook. same error 1

now im steemed.

i have one other windows 7 machine. my HTPC.

So went to my HTPC and tried again. this time i was successfull!!!

does anyone have any idea why my main desktop always results in 4005?

ive researched here but cant seem to find a way to fix it.

Luckily i can still use my main w7 desktop to restore saved iphone images. that was not a problem.
