Problem using Sony Bravia KDL40V5100 as monitor

Hi All,

What a great place! I'm wondering if anyone has a solution to connecting a mini to the above TV.

I have the same TV in 32 inches and use a mini to HDMI cable that works perfectly. For some reason, the 40 inch TV says 'no signal' when I try to hook it up the same way. I've tried all the HDMI ports...including ones that work with other devices.

Any ideas?

Try this when the 40" is connected;

System Preferences-> Displays-> Detect Displays and then see what happens

Unfortunately I can't see anything when I hook up the 40. I wonder if I picked a different resolution from system preferences before I disconnect the mini from the 32 and hook it up to the 40?

try booting into safe mode (hold the shift key during bootup) and see if anything shows up.

Bought a 50" Panasonic plasma and it works like a charm! 🙂
