    Hi All
I have a problem watching movies with VLC, the thing is: every time i add subtitles i see strange lines below and above the subtitles.
It happens when the translation is only one line and it doesn't happen when there are two lines.
It happens in all the movies i watched, tried to change encoding to no avail.
does anyone have a solution to this annoying problem ?
    thanks!!
Attached is a screen shot of the strange phenomenon.

I would post such a question in vlc forums. It looks like some bug.
I never have any sort of lines with either embedded ssa subtitles or external srt.

I would try a clean reinstall of VLC or check out advanced settings maybe changing something in the subtitles settings will solve the problem.
