I have a 16GB iPhone and I synced with my iCloud photo. I chose to optimize the photo story (of course) and somehow alerts still pop up saying my phone's storage is almost full once in a while. Without iCloud synced my phone should have 3GB storage left. So how should I fix it so the alerts will not pop up anymore?

Even optimized, a library that large will still take several GB of memory on your phone: #7

Thanks. Thought it would be so smart that it would reduce the size when too many photos have been downloaded

As you view your photos a size optimized for your display will be downloaded. That larger (bigger than the thumbnail) photo will remain on your device in that resolution until its forced to be reduced. The forced reduction comes from the need for the space. As you can tell though, even thumbnails need space on your device.

If your collection continues grow you will be faced with a decision to move to a phone with more storage space or move to a service that allows photo access without having anything on your device. A service like Flickr or Amazon would give you storage without using space on your device. You lose the integration of the photos app but you gain space on your device.

Thanks. I just thought it would be that ideal when I synced with iCloud. My 32GB iPad which is synced with iCloud photos has no problem at all. Now I just regret that I bought a16gb iPhone 5s two years ago. It still works perfectly whereas I am reluctant to get a 6 or 6s.
