I installed ANDROID FILE TRANSFER last night, to connect a new Oculus Quest 2.

It worked immediately - I tested it by transferring a small video file.

But this morning, when I tried again - attaching the same device via the same cable to the same USB port (hub) it didn't work. I get the error message "no Android device found." even though everything is exactly the same.

Can anyone recommend anything? grateful for all feedback!

It's always been a bit hit and miss for me. Sometimes perfect, other times won't connect or crashes.

Not seen that particular issue. Often uninstall reinstall solves it, making sure AFT Agent is running.

rats! no luck.

1. I tried installing ANDROID FILE TRANSFER on my macBook Air - also didn't work.

2. then I tried uninstall / reinstall - good idea! - but no, it still doesn't work.

anything else I can try?

really annoying that it worked once but not again. can't understand.

a different cable maybe?

is there another program that can transfer files to an android device that I can try?

thanks again!

PS: I just tried the app openMTP, but that also does NOT seem to work. Rats! very frustrating!

There was one I tried but it was ropey and slightly worse than AFT, but can't remember the name of it ( free )

There are paid alternatives but I've never tried any ( Google alternatives to AFT )

Hey! I just tried openMTP and it seems to work ... hopefully, I won't recreate the pattern with AFT, namely, that the works the first time but then NOT again!

PS: info re openMTP info:
