Hi guys,

just got the Ethernet to thunderbold adapter for my MBPR.

I plugged it in and connected it with my lan cable of my router. When i check the network preferneces it says that it is connected (also its green). When I access any online content it tells me that I am not connected though.

What can I do? What am I missing?

Thanks.

First guess you don't get the right IP address for the Ethernet connection.
Did you configured and dynamic IP management in your router ?
What router do you use ?

Okay, couple of questions:
-This is just a standard home setup with the router and all yeah?
-No authentication/profile etc?
-cable definitely sound?

In Network Preferences choose Assist Me followed by Diagnostics. Select Ethernet and go through the troubleshooter. If it doesn't fix it, it will at least give you a clearer idea of where the problem is.
