Hey guys.

I changed some of my folders' icons last night, replacing them with nifty ones I downloaded off interfacelift. Then I noticed that my APPLICATIONS FOLDER isn't listed under "Chris" (the user) in Finder. But it is in my HDD folder. I thought that was STRANGE. It should (in my knowledge) be located in user folder.

ALSO, the custom folder icon that I did change on the APPLICATIONS FOLDER (in the HDD folder) does not appear when I place a short-cut on the left side of Finder. The original looking folder icon appears. No other folder (Music, Photos, Movies, etc) that I changed have that problem.

Something is awry with my Apps Folder, and I have no direction how to fix it. Hope one of you guys... or MULTIMEDIA,;), can fix my ordeal.

Thanks in advance!
-Chris

Your primary Applications folder should be located under your hard drive, not under your user name. Otherwise, no other users would be able to use any of the computer's programs.

An Applications folder under your user name is not created in a default install of OS X, but can be created if you elect to install an app for one user only. But most people have everything in the main Applications folder and don't even have the one under Applications.
