I have a problem with MacBook Pro 15" (late 2008) with MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-868 drive and Yosemite 10.10.3. When I insert a DVD, it will run. But playing a music- or photo-CD doesn't succeed, allthough in systempreferences is indicated to startup Itunes or Foto's.
In Finder appears the symbol with "Naamloze cd.fpbf" but it won't get read or run.

Does anybody reconnize this problem and/or knows a solution?
Thanks, Anton

The fpbf is just referring to a Burn Folder (collection of files waiting to be burned to a CD).. have you checked Finder > Preferences > Sidebar to determine if you are displaying/hiding CD/DVD drives?

At Preferences of Finder displaying of CD/DVD drives is switched "on". So, still other suggestions?

Sure, open Disk Utility see if the CD is listed in the left hand pane.

With Disk Utility the CD is listed in the lefthand pane. But no content to see!
Can Yosemite cause the problem or missing some codes?

Ok good! (Its 100% normal to not see content through Disk Utility

Tell you what, lets take a different approach.

From Finder go to Finder Preferences > General and select the box for CD, DVDs, and iPods - at this point, do you see the icon on the desktop for the disc?
