Problem with connecting WD 3.0TB via USB to MacBook Pro

Hello.

I have a problem connecting new hdd WD Green 3.0TB.

I connect it to my MacBook Pro 8.1 with OS X 10.9.4 via USB digitus (http://www.digitus.info/en/products/archiv/usb-20-ide-sata-cable-da-70148-1 /), but after connecting my disk does not appear in disk utility. Digitus USB is fine. When I connect my the old drive (WD 1.5 TB) everything works perfectly.

Please advice.

The USB adaptor likely only works on drives up to 2.2TB. Anything over this requires long LBA support.

But unfortunately I can not see disk in disk utility. Is that correct?

If hdd split into two partition will work?

No. The drive is too big for the caddy...
