Problem with deleting Previous System folder

I got a message stating "The operation cannot be completed because the item "0" is in use. I tried to continue, but it doesn't delete anything, it's stuck at the same amount.

Can someone please help me out? Thanks in advance.
 
When deleting the previous system folder, should I be using empty trash or secure empty trash?
