So I got a message from Apple saying this is the big day, and that I will have my package by the end of the day. I was so happy to be receiving my Macbook Pro soon. Then looking at the UPS tracker, they pushed it to Monday at the end of the day. I'm trying to change the UPS Relay Point but it's not possible either (they are closed Saturdays and Sundays).

if my Macbook Pro was in Paris 5 o clock this morning ( a three hour car ride from here) they should be able to deliver it by end of today no?

Should I contact Apple to put pressure on UPS? I don't know how this works. What about delivery saturdays? Sure tomorrow is a national holiday in France(14th of july), but Apple could surely pay the cost of a saturday delivery?

Apple can't pressure UPS and I doubt Apple would pay to get you a Saturday delivery.

What about if UPS has a late delivery? They won't pay for a saturday delivery even if they are late? My package was stuck three days in China. "We were unable to load the package on the plane as scheduled."

You will need to take that up with UPS.

"You will need to take that up with UPS." Yes I have but they reply slowly. Thought maybe someone here has had a similar experience.

Its the way deliveries go, its annoying, but it's life, there is not a lot you can do.
I was thinking Apple would pull some strings since they sent me the whole "this is the big day, the macbook pro will be yours this evening!" sms.

I'll have to learn to be more patient though!

I am not sure why you would expect that. They are just another company.

And a month from now a couple of says will not have made any difference.

First, Apple cannot control UPS or their delivery schedule. Not sure why UPS pushed it out to Monday when today is Thursday (when the thread started).

UPS is not always responsive or customer friendly. I've had recent deliveries from them where their website would not work (they re-use tracking numbers but don't purge or check the data, thus it showed one delivery had already been delivered a year ago to a different state and I could not update the information).

So while you may want to blame Apple, and let's face it, Apple can make mistakes, they were likely basing their email on UPS' system and UPS changed it later to show Monday. That is not Apple's fault.

Sorry for your delay. You likely need to take this up with UPS.

Update : Apple understands my frustration from not getting it today and will give me a price cut on the mac :)
The discount I got for the error was 80 €. Apple really has amazing customer service!
