I have OSXPlanet running on my Macbook but I don't want the icon to always be in the Dock. Can I remove it from the Dock somehow while not quitting the program?

Nah, as far as I know, the dock icon is always there as long as the program is open. You can get rid of it from the dock by clicking and holding on the icon, and hitting remove from dock. Then, when you quit it, it wil be removed from the dock.

Actually yes, that is quite easy to do with the assistance of any of a number of different little utility programs.

The one I have used is called Dock Dodger and it could not be easier to use. Start up Dock Dodger, drag the icon of the program (from your Application folder) that you want to hide the dock icon of onto it and gone it is, while still running!

To reverse the effect and get the dock icon back sometime in the future, just drag the app onto Dock Dodger again and the icon returns.
