Hi guys

Trying this forum for help... and hoping for the best ;)

All of a sudden when starting the facebook messenger app I get the old interface without the "bubbles" design.
The app also seem to use much longer time to refresh threads than it used to.

Attaching a screenshot. Note that the old menu's are back on top of the screen and the "new message" bubble is missing.

Installed version of the app is reported as: v. 2.5

Unit: iPhone 5
iOS 6.1.4

Also, I've tried to change language to english, complete reset/restore of phone from iCloud backup. I excluded the facebook messenger app from the backup and installed it manually after restore.
Hard reset of the device and uninstall/reinstall of the app also tested.

So... even if this is not a huge problem it's still anoying especially since noone seems to be able to resolve it ;)

Anyone have any ideas or experience on this issue?

Thank you

Regards

That looks like the interface I currently have and had for a while now. I don't recall a different UI being introduced to the Messenger app recently (on the other hand the Facebook app did get chat heads and all that a little while ago).

What do you expect it to look like? What's the whole message bubble thing?

Actually, when I'm looking at other iphones and screenshots from appstore etc. I find the interface I'm used to. As I mentioned, the interface i currently have just appeared one day without updating the app.

Note that on my interface I have to large menu's on top of the page and no "new message" button in the lower left.

Check this screenshot and compare it to mine...

I see what you are saying. The interface you have seems to be a newer one that Fcebook made available to at lest some and actually looks like most/all users little while ago. That seems to be the current interface and it's not likely they'll switch back to the older one.

What are you missing from the older one that you can't do in this one? For example, you can start a new conversation by using the Message button on top, so that's still there.
